Dolmabahçe Palace
This Palace was the main administrative centre of the Ottoman Empire from 1856 to 1922.
Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder and first president of the Republic of Turkey, spent his last days in the palace as his health deteriorated. He died here in 1938.
