Jökulsárlón is a large glacial lake in Southern Iceland, with its unique feature being the formation of icebergs especially during summer, which gather at its narrow channel before entering the ocean. Once in the ocean, the powerful surf deposits large sculptures of ice back onto the characteristic black sand beach.

These icebergs are seen in two shades; milky white and bright blue, depending on the air trapped within the ice and the interplay of light and ice crystals.
