Laojun Mountain, Liming Scenic Area.
Possibly my favourite image from our trip to Yunnan and Sichuan, China so far. Not only was the landscape truly unique, with great lighting, but the journey was just as memorable. Lead by Alister Benn and Juanli Sun, we left Liming at 0430 and walked from a base altitude of 2700m, and ascended 600m over 2.7km. We arrived at 0600 in time for a spectacular sunrise.
The unique surface of this rock has been literally termed "thousands of tortoises racing for swimming"
