We've been fortunate enough to be in Barcelona for the "National Day of Catalonia" celebrations both in 2007 and 2013. It is held annually on September 11, and the pride, joy and independence of the whole region overflows onto the streets all day.
This image is of Gaudi's renowned Casa Batlló, with the Passeig de Gràcia being filled with revelers draped in the Catalan flag. Casa Batlló was designed by Gaudi in 1904, and is characterised by a façade decorated with a mosaic made of distinctive broken ceramic tiles.
